Howdy Game Grit fans!
It’s been quite a long while, far too long, in fact and it’s so good to be back in action.
Back earlier in the year, an error in an update to Game Grit’s core systems left the Website inoperable. The Data was preserved but all of functions needed to create new content and maintain the website had been wiped off the map. At the time of the event, I had recently started a new position that took up much of my time and I was unable to dedicate the required time and care needed to properly diagnose, treat and eventually repair all of the damage that had been done.
I knew that when I was able to bring Game Grit back into the forefront, I didn’t want to simply repair it, the website needed to evolve, it needed to be better then it was, it needed to be cleaner, more engaging, it needed to have the ability to interact with the audience and connect with them in a meaningful and exciting way.
With that in mind, I present Game Grit 3.0 the newest and most advanced Game Grit ever conceived. It introduces a bunch of new features that I think people will be excited about. This website will now allow you to create your own identity and become personally involved with everything published on this website. So lets go over some of the features.
Game Grit now introduces an entire front-end login, registration and lost password interface to create your account. It also works seamlessly with Social Logins so you can login via Facebook, Twitter, Google+ etc. Your profile will also allow you to easily follow content so you never miss an article and keep track of private messages and Notifications
Make your User profile your own with a variety of different features. Profile customization allows you to change your avatar and post a little something about yourself. You can also share your social links, your website and your occupation. Let people know what makes you tick!
Previously, Game Grit allowed you to rate games through the use of Several sliders each representing a certain aspect of critique. In the upgrade we’ve kept this system so that Users can quickly leave ratings for the game they’ve been drawn to. But we’ve taken this system one step further! Users who have signed into their accounts will now be able to write full feature length reviews and submit them to Game Grit. The Staff will then look over your review and if it’s approved, will be published on our website for everyone to view! Get writing!
Game Grit has gone through a major overhaul and as such, we’ve changed and refined dozens of systems that are crucial to the way Game Grit works. One of our most important features, our professional review system has been redone from both front and back. As well as being much more stylish, it’s been redesigned to make it easier to read so you can grab the information you need faster than ever before.
In the future, we’ll be introducing Hubs. a one stop shop for everything related to one game. These massive organized monsters can load news, reviews, images and trailers in one easy to access place. So look out for those moving on as well.
This is an exciting time for Game Grit and I look forward to experiencing all of the power it has to offer. It’s good to be back and we’re stronger, faster and more flexible than ever! This is a project I hold very dear to my heart and one I hope to continue building well into the future. I hope everyone who visits this quaint little website loves every change just as much as I do.
