Ambitious: State of Decay

To kick off the new “Ambitious” program, I see no better game to start us off then State of Decay, a Zombie Survival Game developed by Undead Labs. Now when I say Zombie Survival Game I don’t mean Left 4 Dead where you pick up Weapons and spray down endless amounts of the Undead Horde that by the second level of the game are terrified of you, State of Decay turns this idea upside down so as apposed to Zombies fearing you, you fear the Zombies!

State of Decay takes place just weeks after the initial Zombie outbreak and shows just how quickly things can escalate when the poop hits the ceiling fan, take on the role of survivors as you search for supplies, survivors and a place to take shelter, go out on scavenging parties, hunt for supplies, weapons and items to upgrade your home away from home. Your decisions will impact who makes it back for supper.

In addition to the horror of surviving the¬†apocalypse, Undead Labs has seen fit to let us loose in a massive sandbox free roam environment and has given us some pretty righteous selections of Cars and trucks too, so we can decide how to run down the dead in style. Any building not blocked by debris is open season and may have supplies, or even better may be your new home. The world – Or what’s left of it, is your oyster so long as you don’t get violently torn apart.

Though Multiplayer has been announced to not be in the game, Developer Undead Labs has made it very clear that “It wants to release it in the future” whether this be in a Hotfix, Title update or new game title is at this point unclear.

Undead Labs has announced a vague release date, but we can expect it sometime in June of this year on Xbox LIVE Arcade. for more information on State of Decay check out the Undead Labs Website, and follow @UndeadLabs on twitter!
