Game Grit in 2015

Howdy Gamers,

It’s been a wild year here at Game Grit, we introduced new features, redesigned the website from the ground up, nearly lost all of our posts and data through a hacking attempt and added new intuitive ways to make sure the content you came to see loads faster.

At the beginning of this year, The Game Grit team installed a nifty little backend tool called Jetpack. Jetpack allows us to more closely monitor what parts of the site are being visited the most, it helps us share content across our Social Media outlets and adds multiple tools that make working on Game Grit more convenient and efficient.

Recently Jetpack sent me an E-mail which was a detailed overview of the total visitors and page views that we received in 2015 starting at the point where Jetpack was originally installed. We’ve since made the stats page public, and you can see it HERE! To see what we’ve been up to.

Back in 2012 I opened Game Grit as a way to express two of my largest passions, Video Games and Writing. I had applied to write for other websites and companies, but lacked the experience and needed a lot of practice on getting my point across quickly and cohesively. I learned enough about Web Design and development to create my own website, never expecting it to reach even 100 views a year. This was something that I wanted to do for practice and to have fun while doing it.

We continue to grow steadily, and it’s all thanks to you. The people who visit Game Grit, who check out our articles, who vote in our polls, who share your thoughts in the comments section. From the bottom of my heart, I thank you for taking an interest in my little piece of the internet.

This wraps up the overview for 2015, it’s now time to look forward to new improvements and changes that 2016 will bring as we continue to brainstorm fun ways to make Game Grit even better!

Have a safe and happy new year,

Cody Spielvogel – Founder and EIC at Game Grit
