Try to contain your excitement as you read the following: Fallout 4 is going to be officially announced on Wednesday.
No, publisher Bethesda Softworks hasn’t formally confirmed the next entry into the post-apocalyptic RPG series. But there’s definitely a Fallout in the making, and there’s compelling evidence that points to some manner of reveal at 10 a.m. ET on June 3. Let’s take a look.
First, there’s Bethesda Game Studios’ Twitter feed:

That image is stylistically identical to the load screen “slides” from Fallout 3 and Fallout: New Vegas. The same image is also now Bethesda Game Studios’ Twitter cover photo.
Taken alone, this could just be an example of a popular game development studio playfully trolling its fans. But there’s more. If you head over to Bethesda’s website right now — the URL is www.bethsoft.com — it automatically redirects to a different URL: fallout.bethsoft.com.
That page is dominated by an animated version of the same image tweeted out by Bethesda Game Studios, with a ticking clock behind the “Please stand by” text and a timer underneath the text that’s counting down to the 10 a.m. deadline.
The evidence pointing to a Fallout reveal in less than 24 hours is pretty compelling, especially when you include the fact that E3 is less than two weeks away. It will also be the first time ever that Bethesda hosts its own press conference at the event.
